The Highway 42 Revitalization Plan

This an annotated version of The Highway 42 Revitalization Plan Map that was updated in 2007. The full PDF version can be found here, along with several other relevant planning documents here. This map is an attempt to condense the core concepts of that document into a series of “sticky notes” that highlight the design goals and considerations.

Residential Medium Density

Miner’s Field

Residential Mixed-Use Zone District

The plan calls for multi-family residential development with subsidiary commercial uses and civic uses in this area.

Future Pedestrian Gateway

This is the planned location of a connection, across the railroad tracks, between downtown and the Revitalization District. It will also allow transit riders to get to the opposite side of the tracks when the rail service is installed. Note: this is not the final design…this is not even a concept under consideration, it is just a nice example of a pedestrian underpass.
